About Get Gutsy Now
Get Gutsy Now is your invitation to take charge of your well-being. I believe we need to bring back the art of looking after ourselves—in between the school pick-ups and back-to-back meetings—and this is my way of helping you reclaim it.
For me, taking the time to look after yourself isn’t an indulgence; it’s one of the greatest tools you have to negotiate the demands of work and family life and address the stress and fatigue that can come with it. This might sound simple enough (and it is!) but it can often feel impossible to hit pause or know what the first step might be. I kick-start this process by giving you tools and treatments— well-being coaching, massage, yin yoga, Ayurvedic nutrition, detox—to build self-care into your everyday.
I named my business Get Gutsy Now because I want you to do just that. Firstly, feel empowered to ask for what you need, whether a quiet moment at the end of the day or a weekend retreat. Then, get gutsy and brave about it; be honest about what’s going on inside your body and your mind. And finally, let’s do it right now!
My well-being story began much like the many big-hearted but exhausted expats, mums and professionals I help today. After many years on the corporate ladder in Europe my body gave me some agonising and troubling signs I couldn’t ignore. These came in the form of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and a few years later—as if to prove to me just how silly I’d been to ignore the initial signs—a burnout. Slowly, I realised that rather than waiting for your body to give a warning sign, looking after yourself was something that needed to happen every day.
As I searched for ways to look after my body several key things happened that underpin the way I work today. First, I fell in love with the word gutsy. For me, it’s the simplest way to express what it takes to tackle your greatest life decisions: breaking off a relationship, moving country or changing career. I’ve done them all!
And it goes much deeper than simply trusting your intuition. I discovered that your abdominal area actually acts like your second brain; it’s a place where you digest your food as well as your emotions. Simply put, your body, in particular your belly, is inextricably connected to your mind. Suddenly, I began to really understand the meaning of gutsy.
Secondly, I discovered that no matter how overworked or unsatisfied you are with your situation, taking steps toward a better connection between your body and your mind—even small steps—is always possible. Over the past eight years I’ve taken these small steps regularly.
Today I’m qualified in a wide range of holistic well-being practices. I tap into this knowledge and my personal journey to help you prioritise what you want out of your life. I’m known for my contagious enthusiasm, an ability to lead without taking you out of the driver’s seat and yes, a love of all things gutsy!
